Mike Ladd – Time Has (w/ Samuel Hirsch & Florent Berteau)

What does it sound like when the West throws a tantrum and sets its own forest on fire? That’s the picture Mike Ladd paints for “Time Has”, made with Samuel Hirsch and Florent Berteau, and he raps it like someone with plenty left to say: hungry, sharp, and hitting hard decades into the game. His nephew Will Sicot-Carr directed and edited the video, shot by Oliver Knoop with dancer Raymond Wade at its centre, and turns the camera on how the rest of the world gets through the fallout. Ladd reads the final moments as proof that people have outlived every deadly fairy-tale twist before this one, with something close to miraculous grace and a lot of pain. Out on Backwoodz Studioz, ahead of the album Nonechosen next month.
